Can’t wait to turn my gold into piss!

How does that work? You eat the gold and your piss comes out golden?
Dehydrated mfers can already do that
There’s actually instructions on the site. It says to add your gold to a bucket, add some piss and two special pills for only $459.99

Seems like it’s still not theirs until a judge signs off on it. That sale was scuttled by a bankruptcy court. Now, The Onion has re-emerged with a new plan: licensing the website from Gregory Milligan, the court-appointed manager of the site.
On Monday, Mr. Milligan asked Maya Guerra Gamble, a judge in Texas’s Travis County District Court overseeing the disposition of Infowars, to approve that licensing agreement in a court filing. Under the terms, The Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron, would pay $81,000 a month to license Infowars.com and its associated intellectual property — such as its name — for an initial six months, with an option to renew for another six months.
The licensing deal has been agreed to by The Onion and the court-appointed administrator. But it is not effective until Judge Gamble approves it, and Mr. Jones could appeal any ruling. That means the fate of Infowars remains in limbo until the court rules, probably sometime in the next two weeks. Mr. Jones continues to operate Infowars.com and host its weekday program, “The Alex Jones Show.”

JFC $81k a month to license it? How much ad revenue does the Onion generate?
Given that it’s all going to the Sandy Hook families and survivors, it’s a pretty good cause.
I would figure that add revenue is almost entirely their bottom line.
Yeah, I assume ad revenue and maybe some merch sales.
They did get into print again recently, but yes. I would expect all of the other forms of revenue to be pretty tiny in comparison.
It’s easy to forget how powerful ad revenue is, but that’s essentially what screwed us into having Google everywhere.
The InfoWars of old was only the prototype for the hell I know we can build together: A digital platform where, every day, visitors sacrifice themselves at altars of delusion and misery, their minds fully disintegrating on contact.
It’s magnificent.
I’m a bit worried this will turn into qAnon ×10 but just as many people will think it’s dead serious.
Yes but it will be actually funny this time.
Birds aren’t really set as good an example as I’ve seen and it still got out of hand.
I still can imagine the Pastafarians eventually losing the parody and having fundamentalists someday too.
Covered slightly more seriously by the NYT and probably others: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/20/business/infowars-alex-jones-the-onion.html
You have been blocked from The New York Times because we suspect that you’re a robot.
Dammit, foiled agian1
I kind of regret that there’s no /r/TotallyNotRobots analog on the Threadiverse, but I suppose that there might not be enough people who want to do casual creative writing to keep it active. !writingprompts@literature.cafe seems to be getting limited traffic.
81k a month?
Fucking hell Im in the wrong field if a stack of yelly bullshit lies is worth that.
Aw man, Learn to Float is already sold out!
Cant wait to put rainbow infowars stickers on all the stop signs with the old stickers on them, nothing like a little maintenance and upkeep
I’ve seen this headline five times during the whole process. I’ll believe it when it happens.
The fact that this headline came without 500 propaganda articles coming to Jones defense leads me to believe that he’s burned all his bridges and nobody is there to rescue him this time.
Infowars.com has a big banner up proclaiming: “The Onion Lies To Internet Again, Falsely Claims Control Over Infowars”
I’ll join in the fist-pumping when that’s gone.
Can’t wait for the next Knowledge Fight episode to drop!
Fucking YESSSSSSZZZZZZZ!!! Now we can all claim Info Wars as our god and savior.
Edit: I hope it goes through.
The licensing deal has been agreed to by The Onion and the court-appointed administrator. But it is not effective until Judge Guerra Gamble approves it, and Mr. Jones could appeal any ruling. The Onion plans to turn Infowars into a comedy site with satirical echoes of the fringe conspiracy theories that Mr. Jones is known for. Tim Heidecker, one of the comedians behind “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, has been hired to serve as “creative director of Infowars.” He said he initially planned to parody Mr. Jones’s “whole modus operandi.”
Last I heard, Onion CEO Ben Collins was dating Kat Abughazaleh.
No no no. What you heard was “They’re sleeping together” and that’s only because they both have narcolepsy.
Before reading the article, I was going to say make it the same but with different tone. Same lies same everything as to show people it remains the same except for the tone. But nah, this new vision sounds interesting.
This is pretty cool.
Now, is there any way they can hand the day-to-day operations off to Julian Assange?
The article itself is satirical, but it’s reporting on a real event — that The Onion has just reached an agreement to buy InfoWars. It’s maybe marginal for the community, but this is basically the only time that one gets to have a single article on both The Onion and Not The Onion — the initial attempt some time back, which fell through, made it to both — so I couldn’t resist.
EDIT: For good measure, link to *NPR*’s coverage.
Its not not the onion.
I for one welcome my new info lords. Hopefully god keeps telling the new host what time it is in the everlasting war to fight the 2% of globalist oligarchs who are against police states and the republican party.

Beautiful
Sounds like they are getting Tim Heidecker to run whatever they have planned on Infowars
