Why did I do this?

If you’ve been anywhere near the internet in the last few years, you’ve watched the slow-motion implosion of centralized platforms. Twitter became X. Reddit killed third-party apps and then IPO’d. Discord is perpetually one policy change away from making everyone jump ship. The pattern is always the same: build the community, pull up the drawbridge, monetize the captive audience.

The fediverse offers a different deal. Run your own server. Own your data. Federate with the rest of the network on your terms. I’ve been running a Matrix server for federated chat, but chat is only one piece of the puzzle. What about the Reddit-shaped hole in the internet?
